You can’t say you are taking care of your health and the environment while still using chemical filled solutions to clean your home. Start doing your chores healthfully without the use of toxins and chemicals, and reduce the need for plastic by making your own cleaning solutions from natural ingredients.
1. Clean your carpet with vinegar
Instead of scrubbing your carpet with store brought solutions that are filled with chemicals, just go in your kitchen and take the vinegar bottle, some salt, and a sponge.
To create this potent cleaning solution, mix half a cup of white vinegar with 2 tablespoons of salt, and simply wipe thoroughly with the sponge on the dirt stain. If the dirt stain is dark in color, add in the mix 2 tablespoons of borax as well, for maximum efficiency.
2. Shiny bathroom
The bathroom floor tiles and walls can be cleansed effectively of mildew, soap scum, and any other dirt that may pop up using natural ingredients.
The necessary ingredients are 2 cups of baking soda, half a cup of water, half a cup of liquid soap, and 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. Also, you need a squirt bottle that has a closing cap to spray the solution on the surfaces. Scrub the surface after applying the solution with a sponge, and rinse it off with water, leaving everything spotless and fresh.
3. Stainless steel sink shining clean
To make your stainless steel sink shine once again, first wet the whole surface, and scrub it hard with baking soda and a sponge.
Afterwards, rinse off with water until it’s all gone, and place paper towels that have been soaked in white vinegar for about 20 minutes. After you remove them, wash the surface one more time with water. The result will amaze you, leaving the sink spotless and shining.
4. Refresh the fridge
The safest way to clean and refresh your fridge is by combining white vinegar with water, and scrubbing the exterior and interior of the fridge with a cloth drained in the solution.
By cleaning with water and white vinegar, you not only effectively eradicate any existing dirt, bacteria, and odors, but you prevent the growth of mildew as well.
Of course, after you are done cleaning the fridge with this solution, place a box of baking soda inside it to keep a fresh and clean smell in the fridge.
5. Eliminate the smell of sweat from your clothes naturally
To eliminate efficiently the odors from your sweaty and musty clothes, add half a cup of white vinegar for every load of laundry. White vinegar doesn’t only get out any unwanted odors from the clothes, but it softens the fabric as well. Therefore, don’t be afraid to use this solution on your sheets too.
