This year has truly been a special year to remember. The plantation marks it's 200 th anniversary of when the structure was started. The home hasmt4 exness been featured in several magazines and has received many new visitors who have graced it's front lawn. In the December 2006 issuse of "Mountain Traditions Magazine" the home was featured on a grand scale for the holidays and the August 2007 issue of "Our State Magazine" paints a beautiful image of the love and care it took to restore this little corner of history

The plantation is also going to be featured in the second addition of the "Treasures of North Carolina books" which should come out later this year. (More information can be found on www.treasuresof.com.) and will be featured in a P.B.S. television travel program. (More information to be provided on this soon.)
The stately mansion has beenmetatrader 4 lovingly restored and is open for tours daily by reservation only. It was the year 1987 when the current owners, the Cantrell's took on this project. Mrs. Cantrells grandfather shared the idea with her that he would have liked to have owned this place in his lifetime. She was only 10 years old at the time, but for many years she kept the dream in her heart that maybe one day she might fulfill her grandpas vision. In 1985 the Cantrells viewed the home, but it was not until 1987 that they actually had the opprotunity to purchased it. Today, the mansion stands in all of its glory on 356 acres, and brings sunshine to the hearts of its guest from the moment they enter its gates.

Amanda and her staff also prepare meals for plantation guests. Meals are served by reservation and there must be a group of 10 to set up a luncheon or dinner. There are many times that smaller groups may be added together, the holidays are a perfect time for this, because there are so many groups to accomodate. The meals can be served in different areas of the plantation, indoors and outdoors options are also available.
